The Pottery Store

A QUICK NEWS FLASH!

At a gala Open House on December 3, The Pottery Store potters officially welcomed Saltair-based potter Peggy Grigor to the group and introduced Peggy and her husband Brad as the new business owners of The Pottery Store. It was perhaps the most well-attended Open House in the history of The Pottery Store, featuring music by the Starfish Lounge Quartet. The potters and owners thank everyone in the community for their awesome and continuing support for The Pottery Store. Peggy and Brad are especially thrilled to be working with such amazingly talented and personable artists, in such a remarkable community. If you couldn't attend the Open House, please drop by the store to meet us.

Welcome to The Pottery Store

When you come through the door at The Pottery Store in Chemainus you're always greeted with a warm welcome and your initial reaction will probably be 'Wow! What a great variety of work!'  In fact, the work is as unique as the potters that make it! You will not find a better collection of pottery anywhere.

Our Pottery Store opened in Chemainus in 1996 when a group of us got together with a shared dream to provide a place to sell our pottery. Now, many years later, five of the original partners are still very much involved in the store, the work has evolved and we've added some other fine crafts to broaden the experience of our return visitors. In the heart of downtown Chemainus, our gallery is a 'must-see' when touring 'The Little Town That Did'!

We recently expanded to include other media, and now represent fine hand-made soaps, candles, books, jewellery, paintings, polymer clay sculpture, glass and wood folk art.  We even have art cards to include with your gifts!

All products are made on Vancouver Island
and we are very excited about showing them off!

On the far right is our manager, Mary Ann who keeps us all in line.
We couldn't do it without her!

Have a look through our website, shop in our secure online shopping cart, and send us an email - we'd love to hear from you!
And, when you come to Chemainus, drop by for a visit and have a look at the entire collection of fine craft!

A favourite quote...

When you work with your hands, you're a labourer,
When you work with your hands and head, you're a technician,
When you work with your hands, head, and heart, you're a craftsperson,
When you work with your hands, head, heart and soul, you're an artist.
