Since its launch last week, we have been tweaking and adding to our new website. The latest addition is our Polymer Clay page featuring Gera Scott Chandler.  Gera has been showcasing her polymer clay art pieces here at The Pottery Store for several years now. Her bright and cheerful images always bring a smile to our customers’ faces.

Polymer clay is not actually a clay, but a polyvinyl material that can be manipulated and formed just like clay. It’s advantage over clay is the ability to use vivid colours and complex layers, as it does not undergo the high temperatures that cause colour burnout and slumping.

Pictured above is “Hattie”, one of Gera’s popular Muse Dolls. Hattie is 10″ high and sells for $135.00. She is one of only two left, as Gera’s art is changing direction. She is on a study sabbatical, so her current work is in short supply. We can’t wait to see what she comes up with next, but for now, you might want to add Hattie or one of her contemporaries to your collection while you still can.
