Refund & Return Policies
All sales are final with the following exceptions:
- Thirty Day Gift Exchange – if an item is purchased as a gift, The Pottery Store will issue a Gift Exchange Form. The recipient may return the item within 30 days as long as it is in perfect condition. If the recipient cannot find a suitable replacement item, The Pottery Store will issue a Gift Certificate for the value of the returned item. There is no expiry date for this certificate.
- Inherent Flaws – If the customer discovers an inherent flaw that was not detected before the purchase, The Pottery Store will replace it within 30 days of the purchase if the item is returned with the original receipt.*
- Items not Suitable – if the customer takes a piece home and decides it is not suitable, he or she may return it within twenty-four hours providing the item is in perfect condition. A $30.00 restocking fee will be charged.
*Flaws are defined as cracks, leaks or any irregularity that deems the product unusable for the purpose it was made. Variations in designs and glazes are not considered flaws. The Pottery Store has full discretion to determine whether an item is flawed.
Shipping Policies
We successfully ship pottery all around the world using Canada Post. We can also use your preferred carrier instead of Canada Post.
We carefully wrap all our products with loving care. We offer extra packing and boxes if you are travelling. If we ship for you, we ensure there is at least a 3″ buffer around each piece.
- Carry out packing is complementary.
- We have special airline carry-on boxes for only $5.00 each. These sturdy cartons were specifically chosen to comply with airline carry-on size restrictions.
- We charge only the actual cost of shipping via Canada Post or your preferred carrier, plus a $10.00 packing fee.
- We will get a firm quote on shipping costs before processing your order.
Although no carriers will guarantee ceramic work against breakage, our careful packing reduces risk — in fact, we have never had a piece break in 15 years. We also make sure your package is insured to full replacement value in case of loss.
Privacy Policy
In the course of providing services or selling products to you through our retail store(s) or web site(s) or by telephone, you may provide us with certain personal information that we require to provide the services or sell the products that you have requested, such as
- your name,
- your email address,
- your telephone number,
- your postal or shipping address(es),
- your credit card or other payment information,
- general information about the products or services you have registered to receive or purchase from us, etc.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may disclose your personal information to respond to legal requirements, enforce our policies, respond to claims that a listing or other content violates other’s rights, or protect anyone’s rights, property or safety.
We may also share your personal information with:
- service providers who help with our business operations and assist us in the delivery of products or services to our customers (these service providers are under confidentiality agreements with us); and
- law enforcement or other government officials in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, violations of law, or as otherwise required by law.
We may store your personal information in our business systems (retail store computer(s), off site backup storage, web site database(s), etc.) solely for the purpose of delivering services or selling products to you that you have requested and for which you have provided the personal information.
Our email communications to you will comply with industry guidelines regarding unsolicited commercial email and with CAN-SPAM, as implemented through our mail service provider.
To prevent unauthorized access, promote data security, and encourage appropriate use of information, we use a variety of tools (encryption technologies, passwords, physical and electronic security, procedural safeguards) to assist in the protection of your personal information. However, “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet, so we make no guarantees for the security of your personal information.
